* RAIR = Redundant Array of Independent Reactors.  RAIR is a way of making batches of biodiesel independently within multiple reactors. By making biodiesel in independent reactors, I/O (input/output) operations can overlap in a balanced way, improving performance. 

Since multiple reactors increases the mean time between failures (MTBF), making biodiesel in this way also increases fault tolerance.
